The Digital Signage Content and Media Expert (DCME) Program and the Digital Signage Network Expert (DSNE) Program  are being conducted on Friday March 3oth.

The Digital Signage Certified Expert (DSCE) program provides a full understanding of all the elements of digital signage and the interconnected technologies that produce the images seen on screen.

Digital signage is the fastest growing segment of the commercial AV, content creation and advertising industries. It appears quite simple at first glance but becomes a tangled web of interconnected technologies acting together to produce the images we see on screen. The challenge is one of immersion and full understanding of all the elements of digital signage.

Industry leaders recognizing the need to provide clarity for those entering digital signage agreed that an impartial, agnostic and vendor neutral training and certification program would provide a platform for continuing education and professional and business growth. The Digital Signage Certified Expert (DSCE) program addresses this need.

The Digital Signage Display Expert (DSDE) program is the industry’s only comprehensive training program designed exclusively for digital signage displays and calibration. The DSDE program addresses the subject of displays as a key component in a digital signage system and teaches how to properly calibrate them. The program recognizes that the displays are the “windows to the world” representing the digital signage message and that accuracy in transmitting images is directly related to impact and the effectiveness of the entire digital signage system.

The mandate of the DSDE program is for the attendees to understand each display technology and the key elements that can be adjusted/calibrated in concert with one another and relative to the environment in which the displays exist. By adopting calibration standards and understanding the methodologies involved in the calibration process, we can address an infinite number of applications and environments and never have the need to settle for a poor, mediocre or inaccurate image onscreen.

The DSDE program covers the science of color, light and the human eye to see how and what we actually see. We are all inundated with display specifications and we are supposed to use those as the basis for display selection but….Are the specifications accurate and just what do they mean and finally, how do they affect what we see on the screen. These are critical questions that beg for answers and the DSDE responds.

The DSDE provides the information to understand the entire calibration process and also the “back story” of why you do what you do in display calibration. By understanding the entirety of the process and employing the skills taught in the DSDE, you become part of an elite group of technicians who can really make a common display into that “perfect picture.”

One of the most important yet misunderstood of the 7 Key Elements of Digital Signage/Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) that go into every project and network is content. The Digital Signage Experts Group (DSEG) has therefore created the Digital Signage Content and Media Expert (DCME) certification, which is designed to lift the level of understanding of content and media far beyond the obvious limitations of “”conventional wisdom”” and provide the details and in-depth understanding of the major parameters affecting this critical area.

The DCME begins by defining what content is, its history and its impact on a viewer. It then explores the importance of content and how it fits into a digital signage or DOOH system. This leads into a discussion of how content performs its tasks and the results and after-effects of having good and bad content.

After establishing what content is and what it can do for us, the DCME embarks on an examination of one of the key areas in content development — the objectives of engagement. We discuss the details of a content strategy, and the importance of having one that is clearly articulated.

Now that we understand where the content fits, we can discuss how to classify content and review the principles of developing good content. The final section will discuss the types of content providers, the costs of content and how to measure content success through the proper use of analytics.

The Digital Signage Network Expert program provides a full understanding of the complexities of what lies underneath the surface and represents the heart, brain and soul a network, along with what comprises a network and network operation.

The program explores the characteristics of networks, such as size and geography be it a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN), the hardware and types of physical links and hardware that connect the network, communication protocols (for example, TCP/IP) and security and access. It includes a discussion of the different modes in which networks can be connected and explores both the pros and cons of wired and wireless technologies and security.
